Call for Art:

Heart–Brain—Heart 

We are excited to invite you to submit to our 2nd annual auction exhibition at the Staircase Gallery! This exhibition will help support our fundraising efforts, and we will be hosting the silent auction for the 1st 2 weeks of the show. The money raised will help support future events and classes. The starting bid will be $25. Any art not sold can be returned to the artist or gifted to the Farmhouse Art Collective's permanent collection. 

Heart–Brain—Heart  invites artists to explore the ongoing communication between the heart and the brain—not as opposing forces, but as a dynamic system of signals, feedback loops, and interpretation.

Science tells us the heart sends more information to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. Emotion shapes cognition. Physiology influences perception. Thought is never disembodied. Feeling is never irrational. This exhibition asks artists to work within that space of exchange—where intuition is informed, logic is embodied, and meaning emerges through connection.

We live in a time where we are asked to think faster than we can feel—and feel more than we can process. Heart–Brain  creates space to examine how meaning forms between cognition and sensation, analysis and intuition, signal and response.

This exhibition is less about choosing the heart or the brain—and more about attending to the conversation already happening between them.

Submission Details

Deadline: February 22nd (work must be at the gallery by this date.)

Eligibility: Open to all artists

Mediums Accepted: All mediums are welcome, 2-D work no larger and 16”x 20”. 3-D work no larger than 16”x20”x16”. We’ll do our best to accommodate time-based media, such as video art, sound art, performance art, etc.

Work must be presentation ready. (If you need help with this please email us.)

Cost: There is no cost to submit your work (small donations to our nonprofit appreciated).

Exhibition Details:

The exhibition will run from March 5th - April 26th

Opening reception will be on March 5th from 6:00 – 9:00pm

The silent auction will run from March 5th - 20th.  Submit a bid HERE

*Successful bidders will be notified on March 22nd. At that time arrangements will be made to acquire the artwork.
