Late Stage Postalism

There may come a time when there is no more mail.

No envelops.
No stamps.
No handwritten addresses.
No postcards crossing state lines in the rain.
No postal workers carrying messages hand to hand through physical space.

If these are the last days of postal mail, wouldn't you want to have experienced it?

Wouldn’t you want to someday say:
“I mailed something once. I participated in that strange and fragile network. I sent an object across distance into another person’s. hands.”

Submission Details

Deadline: July 31st (work must be at the gallery by this date. we recommend mailing your work a week prior to the deadline.)

Eligibility: Open to all artists

Mediums Accepted: All mediums are welcome, 2-D work no larger and 16”x 20”. 3-D work no larger than 16”x20”x16”. We’ll do our best to accommodate time-based media, such as video art, sound art, performance art, etc.

We are primarily seeking artwork on/in the form of:

envelopes
postcards
artiststamps
zines
shipping boxes
mailing tubes
random objects that have been stamped and miraculously accepted as mail by your local post office
letters that use letter writing conventions as design space
etc etc etc

Cost: There is no cost to submit your work (small donations to our nonprofit appreciated).

Exhibition Details:

The exhibition will run from August 6th - September 27th

Opening reception will be on August 6th from 6:00 – 9:00pm
