A Group Show About Influence, Imitation, and Artistic Lineage
This exhibition examines how artists borrow, remix, reference, and reimagine existing works, ideas, and aesthetics—questioning where the line is drawn between influence and imitation. Artists are encouraged to explore gray areas of appropriation and celebrate how art has always evolved through dialogue with other art.
What we're looking for:
Reimaginings: New pieces that directly respond to or reinterpret iconic creative works, with transparent references to the originals.
Mashups & Collages: Pieces that mix styles, motifs, or literal fragments of others’ work.
Open Source Artworks: Participatory or process-based works that invite viewers to copy, modify, or appropriate on-site.
Submission Details:
Deadline: September 25th- 28th (work must be at the gallery by this date.)
Eligibility: Open to all artists.
Mediums Accepted: All mediums are welcome, 2-D work no larger than 16”x 20”. 3-D work no larger than 16”x20”x16”. We’ll do our best to accommodate time-based media, such as video art, sound art, performance art, etc.
Cost: There is no cost to submit your work (small donations to our nonprofit appreciated).
Selling your work: If you’d like your work can be for sale. We don't take a commission, but ask that you donate a portion of the proceeds to our nonprofit.
