Step into the tactile world of relief printmaking with Nick Johnson of Missing Link Artistry! In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to make prints with woodblocks you’ve carved in Part One using traditional tools and techniques.
We'll cover the different kinds of printmaking inks, inking your woodblock, how to use a printing press, how to print without a press, print drying/curing, and making an edition of prints.
By the end of the class you'll have a small edition of 4-6 prints and the knowledge you’ll need to start printing woodblocks on your own.
*Please note that prints may not be dry by the end of class, so you’ll want to have room in your vehicle to transport them. Alternatively, arrangements can be made to pick up your prints the following week.
**If you’d like to take the class but haven’t carved woodblocks of your own, let us know! We can arrange for an individual lesson or make a plan for you to use blocks with our designs.
